This was one of the busiest days yet, with insulators, painters, carpet layers, and the Wesson guys all working at the same time.

In the addition, the new carpet was laid in the bedroom and a few pieces of furniture return at last to their proper places.

By the end of the day, however, the bedroom was filled with boxes containing the organizers for the walk-in closet, so we won’t be sleeping in the bedroom just yet.

Chad from Wesson added some nice trim to the window seat, and then the painters went to work. It’s just what we wanted.

Overall, the bedroom is really taking shape.

We’ve been waiting for delivery of some trim pieces for the bathtub area. It finally arrived, along with the tub fixtures, so that area is finished except for final paint.

The insulators blew insulation into the attic above the addition and added some extra insulation to the older parts of the house as well. Along with the new HVAC system, the house should now be comfortable year round. No more cold offices in the winter; no more sweating in the family room.

We’re mostly down to the details now, with only a few large items still unfinished.

Knobs and pulls have been installed in the laundry and master bath. We went with simple, nickel satin knobs all around, as opposed to more ornate hardware.

In the accessible shower, all of the controls for the handheld shower have now been installed. Drilling through the brand new tile to mount the fixtures is nerve-wracking for the plumber!
