The job of re-shingling the roof of the family room began bright and early at 7:45. The first task was removing the old, brittle shingles. We’re pleased to have Matt and his crew doing this job. They did the framing for the addition, and we know they do good work.

Not long after the roofing began, we took delivery of our new interior doors.

It's a long walk up our driveway when you are carrying a big, heavy door.

Meanwhile, insulation is going into the addition.

Back to the roof — by the end of the day the roof of the family room was re-shingled. Just as importantly, at the junction between the roof of the addition and roof of the family room, new waterproofing and flashing were installed. We’re optimistic that the leaky roof is behind us.

Nine hours later, the family room has new shingles.

Inside, the installation of new doors began. It will take several days to install all nineteen of them.

New doors!

Is it our imaginations, or do the white doors make the rooms look larger compared to the old dark doors?

The calm before the storm. There wasn’t much activity today, though the new closet in the bathroom was framed. Tomorrow will be another story. Doors are being delivered, the roof of the family room will be re-shingled, and the Wesson crew will prepare the addition for insulation.
